What Are Static ISP Proxies?
Static ISP proxies are a type of proxy server that combines static IP addresses with an ISP (Internet Service Provider) origin. The concept becomes easier to understand when broken into these two key parts:
- Static IP:
- The IP address assigned to the proxy server is fixed.
- No matter how many times you connect, disconnect, and reconnect, you will keep using the same IP address.
- This is different from a “dynamic IP” proxy, where the IP changes on each connection or at regular intervals.
- ISP Proxy (Residential Proxy):
- The proxy server’s IP address comes from a real Internet Service Provider.
- More precisely, these IPs usually belong to residential IP ranges assigned by ISPs to household broadband users.
- On the public internet, these IPs appear the same as those used by real home users.
- This is different from a “datacenter proxy,” whose IPs come from datacenter facilities and are more likely to be identified and blocked by websites.
So, the defining features of static ISP proxies are:
- The IP address remains fixed (static).
- The IP address comes from a real residential network (ISP / residential).
