Why Use an IPv6 Proxy?
The main advantages of IPv6 proxies:
- Massive address resources
- The IPv6 address space is huge, which means you can easily obtain large numbers of clean, unused IP addresses. This is critical for workloads that need many IPs, such as web crawling.
- Lower blocking probability
- Since most network traffic still uses IPv4, many anti-bot systems and IP blocklists—especially older systems—are optimized primarily for IPv4 address pools. As a result, IPv6 address pools are relatively "cleaner," and the risk of being identified and blocked by target websites is usually lower.
- Bypass IPv4 limitations
- If a website or service blocks a specific IPv4 address range (for example, banning an entire datacenter IP segment), using an IPv6 proxy can easily bypass those restrictions because the two are completely different network protocols.
- Future compatibility
- As the internet transitions toward IPv6, deploying and using IPv6 proxies in advance helps you adapt to future network environments.
